Available for download on the Downloads page.

Major improvements rolled out in 2.8 since previous versions, including:

Improvements to the Simulator:

  • Mirroring functionality improved and more verbose, including:
    • Ability to specify your own mirror server, or use the infirmary-integrated.com mirror as a default
    • Invalid input regarding the mirror server (e.g. bad server address, wrong scenario password) triggers a pop-up warning
  • Improved responsiveness of tracing drawing on device initialization
  • Improved responsiveness of numeric (e.g. heart rate) calculation on device initialization
  • Window sizes and positions are saved on exit and persist
    • Size and position are saved for the control window and each device, and supports multi-monitor setups
      • Changes to the monitor setup (e.g. unplugging a monitor) cause the windows to revert to a valid desktop area
      • Position and size persistence includes maximized windows: they will return to being maximized
  • Saving a “scenario” from the simulator also saves the Numerics & Tracings that are loaded
    • Saving a file from the simulator does not create a full-fledged “Scenario” file, but has better functionality now

Improvements to the Scenario Editor:

  • Can now preset which Numerics & Tracings show up on the cardiac monitor and defibrillator
    • Allows you to set the amount, source, and order for the Numerics & Tracings
    • Numerics representing pressure transduced sources allow you to preset if they are zero’ed
  • Loading a Scenario that has no steps triggers a pop-up warning that it will cause unwanted functionality
    • Attempting to save a Scenario with no steps fails and produces a similar pop-up warning
  • The Step editor does not allow you to remove all Steps
    • If the last Step is deleted, it automatically populates a new “Initial Step”

Bugfixes:

  • Default temperature was febrile (38.0 C)- set to 37.0 C now
  • Loading Scenario files then selecting “New Scenario” caused an inconsistent resetting of settings- fixed.
  • Closing and re-opening a device would cause the device to fail to re-open- fixed.
  • Improperly drawn rhythm tracings no longer cause the entire tracing to go blank
    • Tracings can still have invalid or unrealistic input (e.g. hyper-extreme cardiac profile settings), but will not crash the tracing
  • Pausing the simulation or tracings causes significantly less artifact
    • Artifact is limited to a single heartbeat possibly coming early instead of the previous “flat-line effect” for several seconds
  • No longer able to overwrite a mirror with an administrator password
    • A bug existed where a user could overwrite a mirrored scenario with a new administrator password
